The latest generative technology and large language models (LLM) will have transformative impacts in the utility and energy sectors.
At Utegration, our industry experts are already working on developing accelerators and products to realize the value of Generative AI (or “Gen AI” for short) for our clients, while also keeping enterprise data secure.
Use Cases
Here are a few of the use cases where we see Gen AI adding value to utility and energy company operations:
- Customer-facing chatbot which takes user input like power outage complaints, etc. and creates service orders automatically in the system
- Using Gen AI and robotics process automation (RPA) to automate and efficiently close Business Process Exception Management (BPEM) use cases
- AI Assistant for internal employees that can help with various tasks like getting step-by-step instructions for processes to getting insights from databases via natural language processing
Utegration is bringing these to life – globally – with our parent company, Cognizant. Our Data Insights & Analytics team recently put forth several use cases in Cognizant’s internal AI hackathon competition and was selected as one of the few to qualify for the finalist round.
Cognizant is already helping leading utilities and energy companies apply Gen AI to customer, operational and business processes (see figure 1 below), driving greater efficiency and effectiveness across the enterprise. Together, Utegration + Cognizant will stay focused on which use cases utility and energy companies should prioritize to gain the most value.
